#30 Days of Lists: 15 & My latest adventure

♥ Bedding
♥ Headphones
♥ Car
♥ Wine (seriously.... only twice)

There honestly isn't that much that I have only bought once or twice. If there is more... then I can't think of it.... seriously.

So today I was supposed to go work for my new battalion and was there like an hour or two and nothing was going on. My NCO called the person I was working for to say I wasn't working tomorrow and he asked her if since nothing was going on, if she wanted to just come pick me up and I could go home for the day. She did. I was beyond excited because I was bored out of my mind. I was looking up stuff for this area so I was checking out the Facebook pages for the posts here, so that was a plus. When she picked me up, she asked if I wanted to go to Ansbach today instead of tomorrow so I can just hang out tomorrow and she can spend all day studying.

What was only supposed to be like an hour and a half drive turned into like a three hour drive. It was commical! The military installations in that town are spread apart, not like a normal base is, with all its parts connected or nearby.... no... the Ansbach post is ALL OVER THE DARN PLACE. And we found every one of them but the one we needed!!!!! We finally had to call a coworker, who is from that area, and he told us where to go. I miss how in the States, the military bases are very clearly marked and you know well in advance when you are near one. Cell service here is also kind of spotty.

Overall though, we had fun.... thanks to the ride. She told me about some places I should visit and some of the cool programs for the Single Soldiers stationed here in Germany. She is pretty cool to hang out with and I am pretty stoked that she is in charge of me. I got a set of the shelves I wanted so I can put my laptop, my computer screen, and my printer all on my desk and still have some room to function. I think I might paint them black though to go with the other shelves that I brought from Fort Bragg. I do need to order some things from Ikea or at least go visit one here shortly and pick them up. I am determined to get everything organized here and make the most out of the room I have. I may get two small sets of shelves or drawers and lay a piece of wood over them for another work desk, I haven't decided yet. I need to wait until my stuff gets here and I get completely situated to know. I will probably rearrange this room a dozen times in the next two months until I am satisfied! I'll probably share pictures of it all as I go.

#30 Days of Lists: 12

Hello and happy Wednesday everybody! Hope this finds you well. Today is only my 3rd day in Germany and I am starting to get settled in. I have internet and a home phone now (I couldn't get internet without it- but calls back to the States are free!) and have started to get my room organized. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to organize all my crafting stuff.... but that will come eventually I guess. Still waiting for AT&T to unlock my Samsung so I can put a sim card in it and use it here.

♥ Write in a journal

What are some things that you do for yourself?

My NCO took me to Graf today (I can't spell the whole town/base name) to the PX because its wayyyyyy bigger then ours. I totally didn't have my shopping list so I didn't get to get a whole lot, which kind of bummed me out. Also- I kept getting shocked every time I touched anything with any sort of metal in it. My NCO laughed at me! It was kinda funny but annoying at the same time. Tomorrow she is taking me to the small craft store on post and hopefully I can find some awesome things to craft with there! Maybe she'll even take me back to our PX now that I have a list!

She told me that she has no problem giving me rides until my car gets here. Pretty excited about that. I walked all over post again today and these hills are killing me. Especially the one that they call Warrior Hill. It links the JMRC area (where I live) to one of the main roads on post! Stupid hills are not my friend!!!

Snailmail organization

Hello! Happy Thursday!
I hope this finds you well! It snowed here Wednesday night and I got yesterday and today off from work due to the snow and the ice and I finally decided to get my butt in gear and work on this little blog!

Today I wanted to share how I organize my snailmail stuff because someone asked me how I keep track of my inbound and outbound mail when its sent. That and I just love taking pictures of stuff and being organized! And I want to make my snailmail stuff more common on this blog!

This is my little station. I bought the little holder thingy at like Walmart or something I think. It has three sections, one for my stamps and tracker, another for my handmade envelopes and a stationary set someone bought me, another for all my other blank envelopes and my sticker seals. I also currently have post cards in there until I get a little album for them. Next to it is also a note card set someone bought me that I occasionally use for mail tag and other random writings.

Until I figure out my pen pal album, this is were I hold my inbound mail! I had dividers set up for each person with their letters behind it- but they fell down because I don't have enough letters to keep them standing. Haha. The top one is a letter from Patti who embroidered some triangles on the top. One of my favorites!
Because someone in the facebook group had asked how people keep track of their inbound and outbound letters, I had taken a picture of my little book. As you can see.... it is little (I put the pen next to it for comparison) Each day I get or send mail, I just write the date, whether its inbound or outbound, and who its for/from. Its pretty simple and its worked pretty well for me so far.

How do you keep track of your supplies and when you send/receive mail? Check out the group for more friends and ideas!
